Launch event for GDI Review: Digital Finance in Africa
Mr. Austin Okere and Dr. Patrick Saidu Conteh (PhD, FCCA, FCIB, MBA) joined the Digital Finance in Africa research team for a virtual panel discussion on 5 March, 2021.
During this event, the panelists shared on-the-ground professional experiences and insights on the past and present of stakeholder engagement with the Fintech landscape in Africa, highlighting important regional variations as well as commonalities. The panelists then debated the future of digital finance in Africa by discussing which influencing factors were most likely to function as catalysts for a better economic future across the continent. The event ended with discussion around the specific mechanisms for how such a step change would be likely to take place.
